Let's Celebrate Baby

We have had lots of babies born within the last few months - with one more soon to come - in our extended family.  Lots more cousins to add to the family on both sides.  Here are two different cards I created for my sister-in-law, Lisa.  The first was for her baby shower which had a black and pink theme.

The round sentiment stamp came with my SP Monthly Kit Club for June and the "It's a Girl" sentiment is from the SP Hello World! Baby Announcement Builder stamp set.  The circles are cut with Spellbinders dies and white gel pen stitch marks finish off the card.

The second is a card I created to welcome her beautiful bundle of joy, Baby Chloe, who arrived one week early on July 29th.  It's sad to say, but we still have to put this card in the mail and send it to her in Canada.

I got the idea for this card from a pin I found on Pinterest.  Too cute!!

The original white satin flowers were colored with Copics and secured to the card with Helmar's All Purpose Craft Glue.  The bib itself was cut with Spellbinders dies and the embossed layer was inked with Worn Lipstick distress ink.  The sentiment is from an SP&Co stamp set.

Here's another close-up showing the unique shape and dimension of this card.

I hope you enjoyed these cards.  It was lots of fun putting them together.  It feels great to finally share these with you.

Fantastic Birthday Wishes

Today was a great day!  I finally hit 50 likes on my Haystack Cards Facebook page.  That may not seem like much, but I've come a long way in just a few short months.  The lucky winner has won a free handmade greeting card of her choice.  If you like Haystack Cards, please follow me on Facebook or Pinterest.  I really appreciate the support!

OK... Now on to my most recent card which I created for the current MarkerPop Challenge #29: The Blues.  The sponsor for this challenge is SP&Co and the prize up for grabs is a free spot in Samantha's new online Copics class!  How cool is that!!  I'm a big fan of SP!

The sentiment is from SP&Co's Certified Awesome stamp and die set.  I used Versamark ink that is heat embossed with Blue Glass embossing powder.  The banner is cut with the coordinating die set and secured with pop dots to give the card dimension.

The image is Present Trio from Lili of the Valley and is colored with Copics.

The embossed teal background and white gel pen stitch marks along the navy perimeter finish off the card.

Happy Birthday, Clean-And-Simple!

Today I want to share a CAS (clean & simple) birthday card that I made for our realtor. We've purchased or sold three homes with her. She's a great realtor and always very thoughtful. She often leaves little goodie bags at our house as a thank you to her clients. Today is her birthday so we are sending lots of happy wishes her way with this card.

Happy Birthday, J.

I used the LOTV Present Trio stamp and colored the image with my Copics.  Both the image and frame were cut with my Spellbinders dies.  From an angle you can see that the frame is secured with mini glue dots to give the card a hint of dimension. It's hard to see in the photo but I added glossy accents to the bear's nose. And, the happy birthday sentiment is from the My Pink Stamper Itty Bitty-licious stamp set.

On the front of the envelope, I tried out my new Postmarks2Stamp set from The Stamps of Life. It turned out really cute! Clean and simple cards can be truly beautiful on their own.

I'm also entering this card in the following challenges:

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Stamps: LOTV, The Stamps of Life, and My Pink Stamper
Tools: Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circles Small, Fiskars Round-the-Corner Punch

Five Stars Pop-Up

Today I have a pop-up card to share with you.  My Sizzix Bigz Card Scallop Circle Pop-Up Die made this so simple to create!  On the front, I used the SP 5 Stars stamp set from my July monthly kit for the sentiment.

The embellishments on the front are clear buttons with the coordinating hot air balloon cardstock glued to the back.  The larger button is threaded with red satin ribbon.

Most of the cardstock came from the Summer Fun Echo Park pad that came in my SP monthly kit for April.  The inside opens up to embossed clouds and a glittery sun from the SP Sunshine Emma coordinating die cut set.  The thank you sentiment is from the mini stamp set that came free with my Stamps of Life monthly kit.  It coordinates with the Sizzix framelit die set: Ornate Labels #4.  White gel pen stitch marks along the perimeter finish off the card.

Here are a few more views:

I love this card!  Hopefully, it will be a nice surprise to a very special recipient.  *Smiles*

If Friends Were Stamps, I'd Collect You!

Here's another card I made recently using my new Postage2Stamp set from The Stamps of Life.  I just joined their monthly stamp club.  They have some very cool stamp sets and dies.

I also ordered the coordinating Postmarks2Stamp set but when I received my shipment, they accidentally included another Postage2Stamp set.  Customer Service was great!  They told me to keep the extra set as their apology and give it to a friend.  How cool is that!!!  So, one lucky stamping friend will be getting this great stamp set and awesome card!

I stamped the postage stamp frames in various inks.  The images are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics.  The top section is embossed with a Tim Holtz vintage postal folder and the edges are inked with Worn Lipstick distress ink.  The lower section edges are inked in Tumbled Glass distress ink.  I used the coordinating postage dies to cut out the stamps which are secured to the card front with 3D pop-dots.

Here's a close-up:

Stamps of Life: Postage2Stamp and Postage Dies
Memento Dye Inks: Rose Bud, Sprout
Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Worn Lipstick, Tumbled Glass, Concord Grape
Tim Holtz Texture Fades Embossing Folder: Postal
Ranger Stickles: Orange

Christmas Star - LOTV Monthly Challenge

Today I want to share a flip-it card I created using the adorable Lili of the Valley Christmas Star image.  I colored her with Copics, added some ice Stickles to the snow flakes and glossy accents to the large star tree topper.

While I was waiting for my Sizzix flip-it die to arrive from The Stamps of Life, I came across an awesome card with a great video tutorial on Pinterest.  It was so simple to make too!

This is an interactive card.  When you open it, the circle flips around to reveal something different on the inside.  Since the shimmery green cardstock base is embossed with snowflakes, I only used red and white striped washi tape and clear rhinestones for additional interest.  The sentiment is also raised up with pop-dots. Trust me... the photos don't do this card justice!  I wish you could see it in person.

Here's a view of the inside:

I was inspired to make a Christmas card for my entry in Lili of the Valley's monthly challenge.  The theme for August is Make It Festive in honor of some recent Christmas stamps that were released.

I'm also entering this card in these additional Christmas challenges:

Here are a few more close-ups:

LOTV Stamps: Christmas Star, Set 5 Christmas Circular Sentiments
Embellishments: Washi tape, Rhinestones, Stickles, Glossy Accents
Paper: Gina K Designs Pure Luxury Cardstock (cherry red), Shine Shimmer Metallic Cardstock (moss), Curious Metallics Cryogen White
Dies: Spellbinders Nestabilities Small Circles

A Little Hello

Here's a little hello from Miss Anya at The Greeting Farm.  I particularly like how Anya is sitting along the rainbow ledge.

My inspiration for this card came from my entries in the following online challenges:

CMC Challenge #74: Pretty in Pink
7 Kids College Fund Challenge #79: Anything Goes with a Twist of Markers
MarkerPop Challenge #28: Anything Goes

Anya is colored with Copics:
R81/83/85, Y000/11/13, E000/00/11, E25/31/50

I stamped Anya with Memento Tuxedo Black on Cryogen White cardstock and then fussy cut the image so she could appear to be sitting on a ledge.  Pop dots and yellow Stickles on her dress add dimension and interest to the card.

The sentiment comes from the SP&Co Stitchery Doo Banners stamp set and most of the paper is from Echo Park's Here & Now stack that came with my monthly kit.

Here are a few more close-ups:
