Best Birthday Wishes

Hello!  I have a birthday card to share with you today that I made for a family member recently. I'm really happy with the way it came out and may have to case this one again sometime. My inspiration for the card was found on Pinterest.

The focal point is the bread tag from the SU Chalk Talk Framelits popped up against a chevron embossed Cryogen White cardstock. The flower is stamped in SU Rich Razzleberry ink. The sentiment is stamped in SU Tempting Turquoise to compliment the Shimmer Satin Turquoise ribbon from my March monthly club assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon. A small blue lagoon button accents the top right corner of the bread tag.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Stamps: SU Flower Shop (#132726), Prickley Pear Dragonflies 2 (sentiment)
SU Inks: Rich Razzleberry (#12695), Tempting Turquoise (#131171)
CS: Curious Metallics Cryogen White

You Mean the World to Me

I surprised my daughter with this card in her lunchbox yesterday for St. Patrick's Day. She's in Kindergarten and she had asked me the night before if I would make her a card. She even went to bed all by herself so I would have more time. Gotta love that!!

This printed cardstock that I found in my stash reminded me of four leaf clovers and I love the pink and green color combination for St. Patrick's Day.

The edges of the pink pirouette cardstock and the printed cardstock are inked with Shabby Shutters and Tea Dye distress inks.  I started out with just the little pink buttons as flowers but in the end added a couple die cut flowers on the front to complement the embellishment on the inside sentiment banner.  Itty bitty rhinestones add a little bling to each flower's center.

The wild wasabi card base was really easy to make with my Sizzix XL Die: Fancy Labels Stand Up from The Stamps of Life. It coordinates perfectly with their Sizzix Fancy Labels #4 Framelits.  The final dimensions of this card is a 5-inch square when folded flat.  You can see in the photo below the little lip that keeps the card in "stand up" mode.

I added a little note on the top half of the inside panel that is hidden when the card is on display.

Product List:
Stamp Set: Verve Take Note
SU Ink: Wild Wasabi (#126959)
Distress Inks: Shabby Shutters, Tea Dye
CS: SU Wild Wasabi (#108641), Pink Pirouette (#111351); Strawberry Slush (#131295) print scrap from stash
Punch: SU Hexagon for banner tips (#130919)
Embellishments: SP Flamingo Pink Buttons, Rhinestones

Hot Pink Happy Birthday Card

Hi and Happy Friday!!! I have a quick and easy birthday card to share with you guys today when you need a nice card at the last minute.

The card base is SU Melon Mambo which is a really bright hot pink. I love it! The diamond background and sentiment are included in the labels4cutting stamp set from The Stamps of Life (TSOL). The Sizzix Fancy Labels #4 Framelits (also from TSOL) coordinate with this stamp set perfectly.

I added a little bling to this classic birthday card with a few rhinestones. I hope you like it!

More Cheerleaders for a Flaming Red Challenge

Sometime last month, I found this adorable cheerleader stamp by Sugar Nellie through Pinterest. As many of you know, my neighbor orders birthday cards through me for her daughter's cheer team. I was very excited to find another cheerleader stamp to add variety to my cards. If you have other suggestions for cheerleader cards or stamp sets, I'd love to hear from you so please leave a comment below. We're talking about birthday cards for teenage girls.

I'm also entering this card in the CMC Challenge #88: Flaming Reds for March. I recently made four cards - two blondes, one brunette, and a special card for the cheer coach. The image is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics on Cryogen White cardstock. It's hard to tell from the photos but Xmas Red and Diamond Stickles add a little sparkle to the red cheer outfit and pom poms.

And here's the card I made for the coach, a darker brunette... using a shimmery silver striped foil cardstock and glittery thickers for the letters. This card is 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" so the team could have more room to write their messages inside.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Birthday Wishes for a Snow Queen

This past weekend, my daughter went to a "Frozen" birthday party. Here is the card I handcrafted for Ms. Evie. I love how it turned out, but let me just say it took several failed attempts with other card designs before I was happy with the finished product. So clean and simple too!

I pulled out my neglected distress inks to create the pink and purple card base. The focal point is the glittery snowflake popped up on an embossed oval frame. The sentiment is from the SU Remembering Your Birthday stamp set.

The party was lots of fun and I thought this was the perfect card for a snow queen. I would definitely keep this card on my "must do again" list.

Here are a few more fun pics of my daughter too:

Stamp: SU Remembering Your Birthday
Distress Inks: Spun Sugar, Dusty Concord
SU Markers: Melon Mambo, Eggplant
Dies & Punches: TE Snowflakes, SU Extra Large Oval Punch
EF: SU Designer Frames

A Flourish of Thanks

Here is another take on a card I made using the SU Flowering Flourishes stamp set. I actually made these cards a few weeks ago to send to our friends and family who came to my son's 2nd birthday party.  I needed something simple so I could make multiples and a card that was relatively flat for mailing purposes. I'm really happy with the way these turned out.

Here's a close-up of the itty bitty butterflies with pearl accents.  For the flourish itself, I inked up the stamp with multiple colors, starting with the lightest [pink] color first.

SU Ink: Blushing Bride, Pistachio Pudding, Pool Party; Early Espresso (sentiment)
SU Paper: Whisper White, Early Espresso, Soft Sky, Pear Pizzazz
Other: Pearls, SU Dimensionals, SU Bitty Butterfly Punch
Stamps: SU Flowering Flourishes, TSOL mini sentiment set
