Fabby Friday: Tooth the Fairy

Hi, everyone!!! Today is a great day because it's Fabby Friday over on the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog and it also means that the weekend is finally here! I have a special card and story to share with you all today...

This is a card I've been wanting to do for a while now, ever since I learned I was selected for the design team.  However, I didn't expect to have to make it at a moment's notice.

It all started with my 7-year-old daughter loosing two teeth within the same week. We had just arrived home in the evening after a long day at gymnastics and Girl Scouts. My daughter was showing us one of her new gymnastic moves on the living room floor when all of a sudden our six-month-old puppy, Riley, knocked into her chin... and out popped her very first top front tooth. It was only a tad loose, so my daughter was extremely upset - claiming between sobs that it was a "special tooth" and that it "just wasn't ready" to come out yet. Let's just say, this went on for a very long time.

The only way I could get her to calm down enough to go to sleep was to suggest that we write a little note to the tooth fairy. She really wanted to keep this "special" tooth.

So here is our note...

Our tooth fairy enjoys raiding my craft room in the wee hours of the night so "Tooth" as we call her (from the movie, Rise of the Guardians) went straight to work, crafting a note back to my daughter.

Here is the inside of the card, with a little baggie holding her "very special tooth".

As you can imagine, the note was a big hit with my daughter who found it next to her bed in the morning. Tooth, on the other hand, was quite exhausted from staying up WAY TOO LATE... but it was all worth it in the end.

  4. This sweet important event in Kaitlyn's life and your crafty and creative approach to it far overshadowed your misspelled word, Jen! I'm sure I never would have noticed it in the original telling and I thoroughly enjoyed popping back in time to read the full story! Kaitlyn is one very lucky little girl!! Hugs, Darnell
