Thanks for...

In the spirit of Thanksgiving for those of us celebrating this special holiday in the United States, I have a thank you card to share.

These are the "Frozen" inspired thank you cards I made for my daughter's birthday party and I'm just now getting them up on the blog. I die cut three snowflakes from the white layer and then die cut them again from various colored cardstock. I then inserted the colored snowflakes and adhered them into the negative space with a Zig glue pen. This technique is perfect when you need to send cards through the mail.

A few sequins dabbed with Glossy Accents and some Stickles accents on the snowflakes finish off the card. If interested, you can see my "Frozen" birthday invitations here.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Sentiment: Better Together (Verve)
Dies: Snowflakes (Taylored Expressions)

May Your Holidays be Merry & Bright

Hi, everyone!! I have another card to share with you today as our countdown to the holidays approach. My snowflake dies paired up with goodies from Ellen Hutson (EH) and Mama Elephant (ME) have certainly come in handy this season.

The snowflake is inked up with the new Plumberry and Stargazer pigment inks by Mama Elephant and then heat embossed in clear. I just love how shiny it looks in person!

I used my Lil' Inker dies for the stitched rectangle mat and my Spellbinders dies for the hill which is also popped up to give the card some dimension. The sentiment and embossed word die are also stamped in the new pigment inks. And who can resist adding a little penguin from Mama Elephant - isn't he adorable?

Spread Christmas Cheer

Hi, everyone! Today marks a new challenge -- Gratitude & Joyfulness -- over on the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog. It also feels great to have another Christmas card checked off my list. Today, Wryn Goes Caroling which I hope will bring a little joy and spread a little cheer this holiday season.

I'm still using up some leftover snowflake dies -- this time they are inked up with Tea Dye and Frayed Burlap distress inks and popped up with dimensionals.  The stitched circle is also inked up with Shabby Shutters and Mowed Lawn distress inks.

Skatin' By to Say Merry Christmas

Hi, everyone! It's Fabby Friday over on the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog and you know what that means...the design team has some fabulous inspiration to kick start the wonderful weekend ahead.

Here's my card. I'm slowly but surely starting my holiday card collection for 2014.

Today I'm using Skater Wryn with a wintery blue and purple color combo. After all, while I'm preparing this post, the temperature here in Virginia is supposed to drop 30+ degrees overnight! Thank you, Polar Vortex!

Skater Wryn

I used Tumbled Glass distress ink to create a cloudy backdrop and added some spare die cut snowflakes to give the card texture and dimension. Wryn is also popped up with dimensionals. The two-part sentiment is stamped in Rich Razzleberry dye ink and Powdered Sugar pigment ink that was then heat embossed with white embossing powder. I also added a few faux stitches with a white gel pen along the perimeter.

Hopefully, this wintery project gets you in the mood to start working on your holiday card collection. The countdown to Christmas is on! Only four Fridays left after today until December 25th!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to checkout what the other ladies on the design team have in store for you today!!

You're a Star

Hi, everyone! Today I have a card to share with you that I made for my daughter's first grade teacher at school. She was so nice to support our local girl scout troop so I wanted to include a handmade thank you card with her order.

I used the Cosmic Stars and Starry Night stamp sets from Mama Elephant (ME) and was inspired by Deconstructed Sketch 168 for the layout. I just love the shiny look of the heat embossed sentiments and how the Thanks Script die cut hangs off both sides of the popped up panel. A few stitched elements and some dry embossing inked up with distress ink finish off the card.

Here's a close-up:

Tiddly Inks: Remembrance Challenge

Hi, everyone! We are jump-starting the day with a new challenge in honor of Veteran's Day and Remembrance Day over on the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog. My card is in honor of my Dad who served in the U.S. Navy and also in the Vietnam War. He is now semi-retired from Yorktown Naval Weapons Station when he's not working there as a contract civilian employee.

I used Tiddly Ink's Patriotic Wryn digital image with a sentiment from Verve's American Hero set.

The sentiment and variety of stars are heat-embossed with white, sparkle, clear, and silver embossing powders. Stickles add a little glitter to the sparkler and clip in Wryn's hair. The faux stitching in white gel pen mimics the stitched circle mat and stars.

So now it's your turn to share a project in honor or in remembrance of someone special. I do hope you will join us in this challenge.  Don't forget to link up your project and to share it on the Tiddly Inks Facebook page too. I can't wait to see it!!

Tiddly Inks: Fabby Friday Birthday Greetings

Yay! It's finally Friday which means the design team and I have some fabulous inspiration to get your creative mojo flowing this weekend over on the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog! My make for today is a card that I created for an upcoming birthday party.

I used the Wryn - Eat More Cake digital stamp and colored her up with Copics. I simply couldn't resist creating the polka dot background with a stencil and some of my favorite distress inks.

A happy birthday sentiment from the Verve Treasured Words stamp set and a handful of sequins coated in glossy accents finish off the card.

Challenges Entered:

DoubleClick Challenge #8 - Polka Dots
Verve November Challenge - Naturally Navy

For the Verve challenge, I was inspired by the circular wreath to create the polka dot background. I also used Night of Navy ink for the Verve sentiment and Chipped Sapphire distress ink on the polka dots. A few navy sequins were thrown in for good measure.

Let's Celebrate!

Hi, everyone! Today I have a quick card to share with you that I made recently for an upcoming birthday. I love how the silver embossed die cut shimmers in person! Just gorgeous!!

I die cut the Ellen Hutson celebrate sentiment (3) times and layered the pieces to create some dimension over the distress ink chevron background. The birthday sentiment is pieced together from two different stamps in the Stamps of Life spinner2stamp set.

I'm also entering this card in the Stampin' Royalty Challenge #253 - Silver.
