Cheer for Birthdays & Challenges

A neighbor and friend asked me to make her a couple of birthday cards for girls who are involved with her daughters' cheerleading team.  Last year, I made her some cards using my Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut cartridge.  This year -- thanks to super speedy processing/shipping at SP&Co -- I received my Cheerleader stamp set just in time to crank out two more...

These cards are also perfect for Fall and Back to School so I'm entering them in the following challenges:

I made the red pom pom card first.  If I did this again, I would definitely heat emboss the Happy Birthday background to make the sentiment stand out better.

To vary the second card, I reversed the color combo and made the pom poms black.  I heat embossed the sentiment background with clear embossing powder.  The light reflects off the sentiment better in the second photo below.  I created a vertical card and added a bow with black/white coordinating ribbon from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by!
